Faster Payments: New brand identity


Launching a new payments brand

Having developed the brand identities for the Payments Council and C&CCC, when high street banks and building societies were ready to launch a near real-time system for transferring money quickly, we were asked to create the name and visual identifier.

Understandably the overriding benefit of speed featured heavily in the naming. Names were generated, Faster Payments emerged as the winner.

Connotation of speed was a key objective

Next stage was to develop a logo flexible enough to appear alongside the identities of banks in different environments. The familiar delta symbol to denote speed was used to create a unique mark which today is a widely recognized for trust, security and quality. In 2016 alone over six billion Faster Payments were made.
